Privacy Policy

What we collect
We collect only what we need to run the platform:
- —Email address: Used to create your account, send order confirmation, and notify you of scans and responses.
- —Messages you write: Stored and displayed publicly when someone scans your QR code. You control this content.
- —Your handle and display name: Shown on your public profile page.
- —Scan data: When someone scans your QR code, we record the time, a one-way hash of the scanner's IP address (not the IP itself), and their device type. We do not identify or store personal information about scanners.
- —Responses and taps: Messages that strangers choose to send you, and "I needed this" taps, are stored and visible in your dashboard.
- —Order information: When you purchase a shirt, your order details (name, shipping address, email) are processed by Shopify. We receive confirmation to create your account and generate your QR design.
How we use it
We use the information we collect to operate Signal — creating accounts, generating QR codes, sending notifications, and fulfilling orders. We do not sell your data. We do not use your information for advertising. We do not share it with third parties except as described below.
Third parties we work with
- —Supabase: Hosts our database and authentication. Your account data lives here.
- —Resend: Sends transactional emails (account confirmation, scan notifications, order confirmation).
- —Shopify: Processes orders and payments. Governed by Shopify's own privacy policy.
- —Printful: Fulfills and ships orders. Receives your name and shipping address to complete your order.
- —Vercel: Hosts the Signal web app.
- —Anthropic: We use Anthropic's AI API to review messages for content guideline compliance. Message content is sent to Anthropic for moderation but is not stored or used for training.
Your public profile
Your profile page at signalworn.com/u/[handle] is public. Anyone with the link — or who scans your QR code — can see your display name and current message. You can change your message or deactivate your account at any time.
Data retention
We retain your account and message data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial purposes.
Children
Signal is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with their information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Your rights
You can access, update, or delete your account and message data from your dashboard at any time. To request deletion of your account and all associated data, email us at hello@renewedcollection.com
